CLARION, Pa. - Junior guard Megan Fogle (Wrightsville/Eastern York) scored a team-high 17 points, 10 of which came from the free throw line, to lead the Shippensburg women's basketball team to a 79-64 victory over Clarion at Tippin Gymnasium Saturday afternoon.

With the win, the Lady Raiders (15-9, 5-4 PSAC West) snapped a three-game losing streak and maintained their hold on third-place in the PSAC Western Division, a half-game behind California (Pa.).

With her 17 points, Fogle now has 997 in her career, three shy of becoming the 15th player in school history to reach 1,000. She scored 12 of her points in the second half and was 10-of-12 from the free throw line for the game.

Fogle led five Lady Raiders in double figures as freshman forward Lauren Beckley (Fairfield/Fairfield) and red-shirt freshman forward Jenny Cunningham (McVeytown/Lewistown) each had 13 points while senior center Shanna Oaddams (Willingboro, N.J./Willingboro) and sophomore guard Phylicia Bessick (Columbia/Hempfield) added 12 apiece.

Oaddams also had a game-high 12 rebounds, totaling her 31st career double double and sixth this season.

Free throws and turnovers plaqued the team during its three-game losing streak, but this afternoon, Shippensburg shot 82.1-percent from the line (23-of-28) and had 18 turnovers compared to an average of 21.3 over the last three games.

The Lady Raiders also had success shooting the ball from the floor, particularly in the second half as they made 51.9-percent of their attempts en route to a 51-point half.

After trailing by two at halftime, Shippensburg outscored the Golden Eagles 51-34 in the second half en route to the 15-point victory.

With the score tied at 43-43 with 12:08 remaining in the second half, the Lady Raiders went on a 13-2 run to take a 56-45 lead with 5:56 left. During the run, Bessick had six points on two three-pointers while Beckley added five.

Clarion (7-16, 2-7 PSAC West) would cut the lead to five with 3:43 to play following a 9-3 run, but Shippensburg quickly pushed the lead to 12 with a 7-0 run.

Bessick totaled 10 of her 12 points in the second half, nine of which came on three-pointers as she was a perfect 3-of-3 from behind the arc.

Katrina Greer scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Golden Eagles while Ashley Grimm added 11 points and nine assists.

Shippensburg returns home on Wednesday to host California (Pa.) on Senior Night. Game time is at 6:00 p.m. Prior to the game, the team will honor its two seniors in Oaddams and guard Samantha Ramus (New Cumberland/Trinity).
