PHILIPPI, W. Va. - Red-shirt junior Ryan Kraft was one of four Red Raiders to post double figures in scoring for the Shippensburg men's basketball team, but home-standing Alderson-Broaddus produced 52 points in the second half and featured efficient free-throw shooting to ultimately defeat Shippensburg by an 82-74 margin Sunday night at Rex Pyles Arena.

For Shippensburg (1-2), the contest marks the most points relinquished defensively since the 2006 NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Championship, a span of 33 games, when Shippensburg dropped an 86-83 decision to Mount Olive in the opening round of the tournament.

Alderson-Broaddus (2-1) trailed the Red Raiders 34-30 at halftime, but shot 58.6 percent from the field in the second half and successfully converted seven of its 10 three-point field goal attempts over the final 20 minutes.

The Battlers were also 11-of-13 from the free-throw line in the second half, finishing the game converting nearly 82 percent of their attempts from the charity stripe.

For Shippensburg, Kraft had only totaled 11 points through two games this season, but erupted for 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting to lead the Red Raiders. He also connected for three three-point field goals and delivered two of Shippensburg's 17 assists.

Sophomore forward Daziah Miller posted his third consecutive double-digit scoring effort, totaling 14 points on 7-of-9 shooting to go along with seven rebounds. Senior guard Alex Jones delivered 16 points and four assists before fouling out for the second consecutive game.

Junior Tariek Belcher recorded 16 points on 5-of-8 shooting, while red-shirt sophomore center Derrick Graff added eight points and seven rebounds.

All five starters for the Battlers posted double figures, led by Stan Hall's game-high of 23 points. Terrell Eargle added 12 points and nine assists, while Jimmy Williams contributed 13 points and a game-high nine rebounds.

Shippensburg will return to action on Wednesday, when the Red Raiders travel to Millersville to take on the reigning PSAC champions. Game time from Pucillo Gymnasium is set for 8:00 p.m.
