The Shippensburg University athletics department and women's basketball team is conducting its annual "Play 4 Kay" event on Sat., Feb. 11 from Heiges Field House. SU hosts Mansfield at 1 p.m.
The event will be held in conjunction with the national "Play 4 Kay" initiative of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund — with the purpose of increasing breast cancer awareness and raising funds for research.
All fans are encouraged to wear pink. Those who do will receive free admission!
FACE PAINTING & PHOTO BOOTH: Tau Kappa, SU's Women's Athletics Honors Sorority, is sponsoring a photo booth and providing face painting for all interested fans!
WBB ALUMNI DAY: Before the festivities, the SU Women's Basketball Alumni game is set for 10 a.m. An SU Women's Basketball Alumni post-game reception is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the new Courtyard Shippensburg located adjacent to the SU Foundation.
FIELD HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP RECOGNITION: At halftime of the women's game, the SU Field Hockey team will receive their 2016 NCAA National Championship rings in an on-court ceremony. The team's national championship banner will also be unveiled to the crowd.
SILENT AUCTION: Throughout the game, a silent auction will be conducted in which numerous gift baskets and other items will be up for bid. All proceeds will be provided to charity.
EVENT TABLES: Numerous organizations will be in attendance with information tables at the game, including the SU Women's Center and the Carlisle Cancer Center.
DONATIONS: Customizable ribbons will be available for a donation.
FINAL FOUR DRAWING: At halftime of the men's basketball game, a drawing will take place to see who wins tickets and a trip to this year's NCAA Division I Men's Final Four. Opportunities are still available if anyone is interested in a chance to win.

ABOUT PLAY4KAY: The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Pink Zone was rebranded as Play4Kay, which is now in its 10th year. The mission of the initiative: a nation of coaches raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. The Kay Yow Cancer Fund is the official charity of the initiative.
