Junior Julie Brown of the Shippensburg University women's swimming team has been selected to compete in the 2013 NCAA Division II Women's Swimming & Diving Championships being conducted March 6-9 at the CrossPlex Complex in Birmingham, Ala.

Brown was selected on the strength of her record-setting swim in the 50-yard freestyle at the 2013 PSAC Championships. Her time of 23.36 seconds was achieved in qualifying while her finals time of 23.45 seconds resulted in a PSAC title – the first of her career.

In three years at the PSAC Championships, Brown has recorded Top 10 finishes in all nine of her individual events – including two All-PSAC efforts in the 50-yard freestyle.

At the NCAA Championships, Brown is a five-time honorable mention All-American with SU relay squads, including a 10th-place finish last season with the 800-yard freestyle relay. Individually, Brown swam the 50 freestyle in 24.16 seconds last season and 24.00 seconds as a freshman at the NCAA championship meet.
