Former SU defender Lauren Marron will serve as an assistant coach this season for the Shippensburg University lacrosse program.
Marron was a goalkeeper and a defender during her four-year playing career at Shippensburg. As a freshman, Marron was the team's goaltender and made 17 starts, averaging nine saves per game and posting a 45.1 save percentage. She moved back to her natural position on defense as a sophomore.
She thrived as a senior, starting all 17 of the team's games while causing 12 turnovers and picking up 29 groundballs. For her career, Marron appeared in 55 games and made 36 starts while picking up 76 groundballs and causing 19 turnovers.
Prior to her senior season, Marron participated in the NCAA Career in Sports Forum. She graduated from Shippensburg in December and is currently seeking her master’s degree.
