The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is extremely excited about the Raider Cup. The Raider Cup is a campus-wide competition that will take place among all Shippensburg University varsity athletic teams during the academic year. The Raider Cup is a team-oriented competition that will test each athletic program’s spirit, dedication, and success.
The Raider Cup team competition will be calculated based on three primary factors:
1. Attendance
2. Academics
3. Athletics
Attendance
Points will be awarded to each team that has 50 percent of its members attend a scored event. (Scored events include Big Games and SAAC sponsored events.)
Academics
Points will be awarded based on the average GPA of each team. Additionally, team bonus points will be awarded for each respective student-athlete who earns a 4.0 GPA.
Athletics
Points will be awarded based on season winning percentage. Additionally, team bonus points will be awarded for a top-three finish in conference championship standings.
The winning team at the conclusion of the academic year will be awarded a $1,000 cash prize designated to the respective program as well as a trophy and team photo housed in Heiges Field House.
