SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's outdoor track & field team heads west this week for the 2025 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which will take place Thursday through Saturday at Slippery Rock's Bill Lennox Track at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.

Pertinent meet information, including live coverage options, ticket links and a meet schedule, is available by accessing Slippery Rock's Championships page linked above. The Rock athletic communications office is facilitating first-rate video coverage of this week's championships that will be available on the PSAC Network.

Shippensburg has its work cut out for itself if it is to repeat as the league champion. Host Slippery Rock is the heavy favorite and Millersville also boasts a squad that is fully capable of capturing a trophy by week's end.

Last year, Shippensburg defeated Slippery Rock by 27 points and won eight events en route to its 15th overall team title. However, several key contributors have graduated, including Leah Graybill (200-meter champion, 100-meter runner-up, 4x1 and 4x4 relay), Caroline Mastria (400-meter champion, 4x4 relay) and Sara McKean (long jump champion, fourth in 100, 4x1 relay) among others.

Senior Aliyah Serrano, who posted All-PSAC finishes in the 100 and 200 and was the leadoff leg of both victorious relays last season, is unable to compete this week due to injury. Senior Sasha Lee, last year's triple jump champion, is unable to defend her title this week but hopes to compete in the long jump and the 100-meter hurdles – events in which she is the top seed.

Two Raiders will have opportunities to defend their conference titles of a year ago: junior Makayla Decker is the No. 4 seed in discus while senior Abby Reasoner is the No. 2 seed in the javelin.

Senior Nicola Puggé;, the 2023 heptathlon champion and a three-time scorer in the multi, is the No. 2 seed in the multi.

Senior Alyssa Wert is the sole returner from last year's victorious 4x400-meter relay and seeks her first All-PSAC finish in the open 400 meters as the No. 4 seed. SU has three No. 3 seeds – senior Victoria Mattioli in the 5K, junior Madison Malcolm in the 400-meter hurdles and freshman Riyah Whigham in the triple jump.

The Raiders enter the meet with 24 projected scorers (Top 8 seeds) based on the accepted entries released Tuesday night.

Overall, Shippensburg is down four entries from last season (49 this year, compared to 53 in 2024) but has increased its participant total by three (38 this year, compared to 35 in 2024).
