SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Shippensburg has released its 2010-11 swimming schedules. This season's slate features four home meets spanning October to January along with familiar trips to the Patriot Invitational (George Mason) and Zippy Invitational (Akron).

Tim Verge returns as the head coach for the men's and women's programs in 2010 after both programs placed third at the PSAC Championships last season under Erin Goodhart. It will be the 12th season at the helm for Verge, who spent last season as the acting assistant director of athletics.

The only difference between the men's and women's schedule occurs in the season-opening meet on Saturday, October 9. In men's competition, West Chester hosts a dual meet with Shippensburg while Kutztown joins to make the women's competition a tri-meet. Kutztown no longer sponsors men's swimming.

Shippensburg has two home meets in the first half of the season. On Tuesday, October 19 the Raiders will host Bloomsburg at 6 p.m. Two weeks later, SU will host Clarion on Saturday, November 6 at 1 p.m.

After five dual meets, Shippensburg will compete in the Patriot Invitational (November 19-21) and the Zippy Invitational (December 3-5). Both weekends are extremely important to each program as some of the strongest SU times of the regular season are traditionally posted from these facilities.

In January, the Raiders host Edinboro and Drexel over a nine-day stretch before closing out the regular season with a quad meet at IUP on January 28 and 29. The PSAC Championships will once again be held at Cumberland Valley High School, with the meet running from February 17-20.
