SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg men's basketball program and head coach Dave Springer have confirmed the signing of Mechanicsburg high school forward Dylan Edgar to a national letter of intent (NLI). Edgar will suit up for the Red Raiders in the 2010-11 season.
"We're really excited to bring Dylan on board," Springer said. "He is a very skilled big man and boasts a lot of skills that you don't often see in a high school player. We're going to help him learn how to play the post at the collegiate level."
Edgar averaged a double-double for the Wildcats this season under head coach Bob Strickler. He was a three-year varsity player who capped off his senior year with selections to the Mid Penn Keystone Division All Star squad and the Patriot News Big 15 All Star team.
"His combination of skills will make him a very good player in the PSAC," Springer said. "We're going to get him involved right away and he will play as a freshman."
