SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Shippensburg University women's volleyball senior
Kali Antolik has been selected to the
ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 2 Second Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). It is the third consecutive year Antolik has been recognized.
The award recognizes Antolik for her success both on the court and in the classroom. She was one of just two players from a PSAC institution on the second team and one of five PSAC selections on either the first, second or third team in the District 2 College Division.
A supply chain management major, Antolik has sustained a 3.87 grade-point average while attending the John L. Grove College of Business, one of the premier business schools in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Established in 1971, the school was internationally accredited in 1981 by the most prestigious business-accrediting agency in the world, AACSB International.
With two games remaining in the regular season, Antolik leads the team with 82 blocks, including 33 solo blocks, while ranking second on the team with 258 kills and having compiled six service aces. The senior middle blocker continues to hold the school record for block assists with 253 through three-plus seasons.
Antolik was named to the All-District 2 Third Team in 2007 and became the first player to earn academic all-district honors since Michelle Doughty '05 was selected to the third team following her senior season.
CoSIDA selects Academic All-America® teams in 12 programs. A first team, second team and third team are selected in both the University (Division I and I-AA) and College (Division II, III and NAIA) Divisions.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
