SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University Student Athlete-Advisory Committee (SAAC) recently sent a check for $1,000 to help the Bloomsburg community with relief efforts after major flooding affected the region last year. The effort was conducted on behalf of all student-athletes at Shippensburg as many provided donations toward the cause.
Members of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) also collected donations at numerous athletic events during the fall, including the PSAC Field Hockey Championships from Robb Sports Complex.
The check was sent to AGAPE, an organization that is coordinating many of the relief efforts in the Bloomsburg community. The contributions are expected to provide assistance to the victims in the form of items such as portable heaters, drywall supplies, appliances and possibly furniture.
