2010 WSOC Recruiting Class
SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Shippensburg has released its 2010 women's soccer regular season schedule. The Lady Raiders are looking for a berth in the PSAC postseason this year and head coach
Rob Fulton has put together a 14-member recruiting class to help offset the loss of seven integral seniors.
The biggest change this season for both women's and men's soccer is the shift in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play. The divisional format has been eliminated in favor of a single division, round-robin format. The top eight overall seeds will qualify for the postseason and all games against PSAC schools will count in the conference standings.
Shippensburg's first game of the year is its home opener on Friday, September 3 at 5 p.m. against the University of Charleston. The Lady Raiders will only have two other home games in September - a PSAC clash with Gannon on September 18 and a non-conference match with Davis & Elkins on September 28.
Six of the nine home games this season for Shippensburg occur in October. All nine of the games that SU plays in October will be conference games, including a stretch of three consecutive home games in six days. Beginning October 1, SU hosts Kutztown, Mansfield and East Stroudsburg. The team's season finale will be a home game against California (Pa.) on October 30.
Schedules are always subject to change. For the latest schedule information throughout the year, be sure to check the Shippensburg University Athletics website, www.shipraiders.com. Additional schedules will be released online in the coming days and weeks.
