SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Shippensburg University cheerleading head coach
Lisa Ilaria announced Tuesday that tryouts for the 2009-10 cheerleading team will be held on Saturday and Sunday, April 25-26 in Henderson Gymnasium.
Saturday's practices and tryouts are scheduled from 12-6 p.m. while Sunday's tryouts will begin at 10 a.m. The gym will be open at 9 a.m. with practice mats available.
Shippensburg University is also seeking applicants for a full-time Red Raider to be at all sporting events and other functions.
Cheerleading applicants must be able to complete at least a standing back handspring, but more proficiency is strongly encouraged. Those seeking a flying position must be able to complete at least one full twist from two different one-footed stunts. Sleeping arrangements can be provided if needed for potential applicants.
