SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Shippensburg University Television (SUTV) will begin live Web-streaming of football and basketball games this season for select contests when students are available for coverage. The schedule of games will be constantly updated on the Media Site server available
here.
“I would like to recognize and thank Scott Donald and Mira Mattern for their Web expertise as well as Mike Yoh for the infrastructure support,” says Shippensburg Director of Broadcasting Michael Gardner. “They were major contributors in completing this project.”
SUTV will begin another season of broadcasting Shippensburg University home athletic events on August 30 when the Red Raiders host Shepherd in the 11th annual Great Valley Classic. All six home games will be web-streamed this season in addition to being broadcast on Campus Channel 75 and Comcast Community Access Channel 21.
Only select locations on campus are conducive to allowing the crew to stream games. Currently, Seth Grove Stadium and Heiges Field House are the only two locations on campus that have the fiber connectivity infrastructure to stream and broadcast games.
For interested fans, games will be archived on the server for post-event viewing until the end of each respective season. These games must be deleted due to server space restraints. The games will not be permanently archived and must be deleted following the season due to server space on the Shippensburg campus.
